What is ChatWMS?

ChatWMS is a natural language interface for your warehouse management system developed by Cellaware Technologies. By leveraging common interfaces like chat, ChatWMS bridges the gap between technical understanding and operational leadership. This allows you to have a conversation with your WMS in real-time. Our application eliminates the need for a middle person and provides unprecedented access to your operational data. The mission of ChatWMS is to empower your operations leadership by giving them the ability to interact directly with the data through natural language.
ChatWMS leverages generative AI to provide a natural language interface for your WMS data. No special skills required! If you know how to ask a question, you can get the data you need.
The Evolution of ChatWMS
July 2023
ChatWMS came to life in July 2023, inspired largely by Danny and Luke's experience in warehouse operations.
"As I became more interested in these systems, I was eventually introduced to SQL. SQL (structured query language) provides a means in which to query and manipulate data in a database. A byproduct of a warehouse management system is data -- and lots of it.
Knowing how to retrieve and analyze this data is a very good skill to have. I was soon able to answer questions that I never even knew to ask.
This experience is the inspiration for our new product: ChatWMS."

ChatWMS empowers operations leaders whether they know SQL or not. You no longer need to be an SQL expert to answer questions about your warehouse data. Instead, you can just have a conversation.

August 2023
ChatWMS received a refresh with a new logo!
It simply shows the essence of a chat bubble and the name - we don't want you to forget it!
September 2023
Multi-Language support was added to the application. In such a diverse industry it was important to be able to communicate in different languages.
October 2023Â
ChatWMS got a whole new user interface update! These changes were made to provide a better and more well-rounded user experience. The Dashboard, Documentation, and Playground features were also added to the application.
April 2024Â
Six new features were added to ChatWMS! The Progress Bar, Review, Query, Filters, Usage Dashboard, and Data Selector are all features meant to further enhance user experience.
July 2024
ChatWMS became usable on any device and any platform - from computer, to tablet, to mobile! We made it even more user friendly to be able to work anywhere in your warehouse.
We also began finalizing the plans our first ChatWMS pilot!
November 2024
Danny Glass was on site to help launch the first ChatWMS Pilot!
A refresh timer feature was added to dashboards in order to keep information up-to-date. In addition, we created new usage summary dashboard widgets, along with other small details that we noticed were needed to enhance the user experience and elevate the look of ChatWMS. We also added a requirement to select the system context before sending a question in Chat.
January 2025
A new year calls for reflection and new features! We introduced dashboard filters and datagrid improvements.

February 2025
ChatWMS was showcased at Manifest in Las Vegas by our Co-Founders Luke Hoffman and Danny Glass. They love any moment where they can show the power of ChatWMS!
April 2025
ChatWMS had a massive upgrade! The new additions included a developer portal, configuration portal, data and widget creation within the Chat feature, large language model upgrades, and interface improvements.
May 2025
Finally, after an exciting few months of a successful pilot, we were able to announce our new ChatWMS customer - Kenco Group!

The Value of ChatWMS
"The value of ChatWMS is in making your warehouse smarter. A smarter warehouse in my opinion, is a more efficient warehouse. How many times has action been delayed by data because you had to wait on the technical expert to run a report or wait on a report that has been created to refresh? PowerBI for instance has a minimum refresh time of 30 minutes. In my past experience with the largest logistics company in the world, their go-to BI application had a minimum refresh of 10 minutes. So much can happen in a warehouse in 10 minutes! This assumes that you already have the report developed. What if you don't? Do you have a resource that can develop it? How complex is it? All of these factors waste valuable time and money on insights. ChatWMS gives you that data at your fingertips when you need it, not when it's convenient for a system to update or a person to create a report."

Favorite Feature of ChatWMS
"It is hard to pick something over the Chat feature. The feeling of having a conversation with your WMS is pretty cool. However, I would have to say that the Dashboard feature is my favorite. We built Chat first -- which makes sense. Using LLMs? Build a chatbot.
There are a couple of components in a ChatWMS interaction. The question, the intermediate steps, and the answer. In chat, you just see the question and the answer. We quickly realized that we could do more with the intermediate steps. Depending on how generic they are, they can be saved and revisited later. This means that you do not have to necessarily ask the same question twice. If you saved the intermediate steps, you could just refresh the answer.
This led to the Dashboard idea. We can save the intermediate steps and associate a visualization to it. You can create as many of these as you want, and you can view them whenever you please. It is similar to any other business intelligence application, but with one very important difference -Â You don't need to know how to code or how to configure complex dashboards. You just need to describe what you want to see."
